I know not by what methods rare But this I know…
I know not by what methods rare But this I know God answers prayer. I know that he has given his word. That says that prayer is always heard And will be answered soon or late. And so I’ll pray and calmly wait. I know not if the thing I sought. Will come in quite the way I thought. But give my prayers to him alone. Whose will is wiser than my own. Assured that he will grant my quest. Or send some answer far more blessed.
This nation needs our prayers. We have a political crisis unlike any this country has faced in its 240 years of existence. The Republican party has nominated a childish buffoon as its presidential candidate. The Democrats have nominated an amoral, pathological liar as its presidential candidate. Only God can help us. Each night when my wife and I kneel in prayer, in addition to praying for our children and others, as well as the poor and the needy our prayer goes something like this: “and please bless this great country. Wilt thou please intervene in our political system and rise up an honest leader who understands the role of government to preserve the freedoms we hold so dear; one who will protect and defend the constitution. And Heavenly Father please touch the hearts of the voters throughout the land. Bless them to choose wisely when voting.”
It was through prayer that Columbus was guided to America. It was through prayer that miracles guided George Washington to victory in the American Revolution. It will be through prayer that leaders will be chosen who will preserve our freedoms and protect us from the pernicious intrusion of government into our personal lives.
If we, the voters of this nation, will remember Him who has all power to guide and bless the lives of all mankind, will turn to him in humility and plead for his blessings on this great land, we can make a difference.
Watched the Democratic convention this evening and heard one of the most motivational speeches I’ve ever heard and I’ve heard many in my life time. It was almost as if Barak Obama was talking about the America that I love so much and as I watched the delegates drink the cool aid the sadness came. With his mouth, the President wrote checks that his actions cannot cash.
The great tragedy is that millions will go to sleep tonight believing that all is well in America and that the only way to keep it so will be to propel Hillary Clinton into office.
America is great and will always be great as long as, citing Alexis deTocqueville, “America is good”. To say that we are good and then promote a pathological liar to hold the highest office in the land is symptomatic of an evil worm eating its way through the national conscience.

Never before in the history of National politics have the voters of America been saddled with more inept candidates for the highest office in the land. Hillary Clinton is a pathological liar and Donald Trump is a braggart and a buffoon. A significant contingent of the American electorate are threatening to boycott the election on the premise that , the “lesser of two evils” is still evil therefore they will stay away from the polls on election day.
This thinking is flawed on at least two fronts. First: Allowing the ‘greater’ of two evils to triumph is a stronger victory for evil. Second: Not voting because one is not happy with either candidate is, in my opinion, an abdication of not only the responsibility to participate in the electoral process but the right to engage in the discussion. If you don’t vote, don’t complain. There is no such thing as innocently standing on the sidelines.
Dante famously said: “The hottest places in hell are reserved for those who in times of great moral crisis maintain their neutrality.”
Albert Einstein wisely said: “The world will not be destroyed by those who do evil but by those who watch them without doing anything.”
Surely the position(s) of one of the candidates on the issues in this most unusual election more closely reflects the values of each American citizen than does the other. That then is the criteria which should drive our vote.
June 24, 2016 In a stunning vote that sent a shock wave through the world, the middle class in the UK stiffened their backs against the notion of an international central government. Tired of sending euros to bail out failed socialist governments in the EU, United Kingdom producers said no more. The 52%-48% vote in favor of England’s exit from the European Union, sent a clear message from the working class that they will not be denied the right of self determination by socialist elitists who see themselves as modern day Robin Hoods. And this is just the beginning. Watch for France, Italy, Germany and others to follow suit.
A former advisor to Margaret Thatcher, when interviewed on the Lou Hobbs show, stated that Winston Churchill and Margaret Thatcher were cheering in their graves over this vote. At the same time, grand narcissist Barack Obama and panderer Hillary Clinton were no doubt crying in their beer. It was Winston Churchill who said “Socialism in the best form of government except for every other form that has ever been tried,” and it was Barak Obama who, believed his very appearance in the UK would shock and awe the electorate into preserving the EU.
The idea of a “One World Order, of which the EU is a mini-mock-up, is as inane as it is delusory. It is a socialist concept that it is the governments responsibility to redistribute the wealth of the worlds producers to the lower class. On a grand scale, redistribution would be expanded from counties, states, and countries to nations. The American working middle class, for example, would continue to be taxed and their tax money sent to Poland, Greece or any other country to support populations who retire at age 52 and this largely because of inept socialist policies. Workers in free countries will simply not continue to do this.
Brexit was a vote for free enterprise. It was a vote for the freedom to determine one’s own future. It is a vote for restricting government intrusion into our personal lives. What it was not was a move to deny the underprivileged the necessities of life but a move to improve their chances of having more that any government could give them.
Brexit was a vote for freedom!
Two of my favorite world leaders, Winston Churchill and Ronald Reagan were true statesmen. They were honest and both perceived the greatness of the human spirit and decried any form of governmental control that subdued that spirit. Both clearly decried the dangers of a socialist type government. Churchill famously stated “Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance and the gospel of envy. It’s inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.”
Reagan understood clearly governments innate ability to screw up almost everything it tried to manage when he said: “Government’s view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases. “If it moves tax it. If it keeps moving regulate it. If it stops moving subsidize it.”
Americans will soon be faced with the choice of electing a president who will either stop the advance of socialism or a president who will continue to feed the monster of government by spending as if there were no tomorrow. Liberal policies that breed dependance on the government have done nothing historically speaking but create citizens bereft of the pioneer spirit that made America the greatest country in the world. America is the standard of freedom and ingenuity in the world for two reasons. The light of democracy represented by the flame held high by the statue of liberty, and the grinding wheels of capitalism driven by the indomitable American spirit and its desire for personal achievement. Increased intrusion of government into the lives of the citizenry do nothing but dim the flame of democracy and clog the wheels of capitalism.
Give me a statesman (woman) who will stop the transformation of America into a bastion of dependency and return it to the cradle of hope for the “teeming masses yearning to be free.”
One thing I know. Such a statesman will never be found in the ranks of liberalism.
